Promoted from Electrical Engineer to Engineering Manager

Managed process, manufacturing, and electrical engineers in the production/assembly department of Icon's Treadmill Division.  Managed numerous project teams to reduce production costs and increase throughput.

·               Developed new technique to determine treadmill belt tension, which increased throughput by 10%.

·               Created new means of testing finished treadmills, which reduced testing time and increased throughput by 20%.

Silgan Containers Corporation, Modesto, California                                                                                  5 years

Plant Manager

Management of Food Container operations, sales, inventory, quality, technical support and budgeting functions through approximately 135 full-time employees.  Worked closely with Partners (Del Monte, Nestle, etc.) in the improvement of all processes related to canning of food / milk products.  Redesigned equipment to increase line efficiencies and reduce costs.  Accomplishments:

·               Increased productivity 40% by successfully transforming plant to continuous operations mode.

·               Took facility from a negative $500K loss to profit exceeding $4.5 million in 4 years.(E.B.T.)

·               Redesigned plant layouts improving can quality and increasing plant efficiency from 75% to 99%.

·               Negotiated two Union contracts which were beneficial to management and labor relations

Managed Food Container manufacturing plant operations.  Part of Del Monte strategic management team to insure overall long term viability of food packing processes. Responsible for all aspects from Safety, Quality, Production and Profitability.

Accomplishments:

·               Successfully managed Teamsters Union personnel to surpass efficiency and profit objectives.

·               Managed transition of plant to Silgan Containers Corp. (Silgan purchased Del Monte Container Division)

Reason for Leaving: Del Monte sold our Division to Silgan Containers Corporation.  I became a Silgan Employee.
